    From the outside, Orlando's new Waldorf Astoria (waldorfastoriaorlando.com) surprised me. Little did I know that the nondescript building-tall, geometric, nice but not particularly awe-inspiring-belied what awaited inside: A soaring dome ceiling with unbelievable detailing (hand-painted? Fabric? I'm not sure what's up there, but it's gorgeous).

    I've been duped. For years I've been drinking flavored vodkas with promises of citrus, raspberry, vanilla and other imbued flavors. I long ignored the slightly artificial taste - until recently on a tour of Florida Distillers Company in Lake Alfred, where I sampled 4 Orange Premium Vodka (4orangevodka.com). The scent and taste reminded me of peeling a freshly picked orange then popping a slice in my mouth.

    Two weekends ago, I headed out to Palm Coast to explore the Florida Agricultural Museum (myagmuseum.com). Now before you yawn, let me point out that this so-called museum is tucked inside 460 acres of Florida wilderness and horseback riding is the best way to explore it - so giddy up. Riding Breeze, one of the stable's oldest quarter horses, I traveled a green trail across I-95 (see photo) to the Clark Homestead, an old Cracker House where Cracker cattle, a sassy dog named Sally and a hen house do a great job of portraying rural life in 1890.
