Shops: Plenty to See

Our fave new stores from Jacksonville to Palm Beach for design inspiration
by Susan Friedman | Photography Joey Marchy, Urban Jacksonville

Walk into Nest Living (nest-living.com), pictured right, and you might think you're in New York's SoHo or Miami's Design District. But you're in Jacksonville, and yep, the likes of Knoll, Vitra, Louis Poulsen and most recently Herman Miller are all part of the "urban design boutique" mix in this great little shop. Concrete flooring and white walls let the furniture shine — as it should. We call this place a must-see.

A beautiful addition to West Palm Beach's Antique Row Art & Design District is Valerie M. Interiors & Antiques (valerieminteriors.com), the very essence of aplomb with its inspirational vignettes in contemporary, traditional and Palm Beach tropical styles. The gorgeous chandeliers and faux paintings aren't bad either. FYI: Its fab neighbor is Objects in the Loft (objectsintheloft.com), long known for mission, modern and rattan stylings coveted by collectors.
