  • June 24-Sept. 6 — Daytona Beach rocks this summer with the debut of the American Music Festival. Catch top country, blues, jazz, pop and rock artists as they take center stage every Friday at the historic Daytona Beach Bandshell. Produced by Daytona’s Community Cultural Foundation, this is one of the largest music events the city has ever seen.

  • May 2 — Held at Bayfront, the Taste of Collier in Naples features savory samples from 30 of Collier County’s best restaurants as well as local entertainment and ice-carving contests.
  • May 31-June 19 — The 2010 Sarasota Music Festival brings up-and-coming musicians from around the globe to the Sarasota Opera House. The classical repertoire includes Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.
  • June 1-14 — Discover Sarasota’s culinary side during Savor Sarasota, the city’s fifth annual restaurant week. Enjoy multicourse meals—$15 for lunch and $25 for dinner—at the city’s finest restaurants.
  • Through June 27 — For devotees of the late Princess Diana, the Naples exhibition Princess Diana: Dresses of Inspiration is a must-see. Gowns, shoes, handbags and more dress up the Von Liebig Art Center.

  • May 6-9 — The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach is once again home to the Players Championship. See your fave PGA Tour pros play the 132-yard 17th “Island Green” hole and take home the crystal trophy.
  • May 21-23 — The Wild Amelia Nature Festival at Amelia Island State Park includes eco-tours of the island and photo workshops. This year’s focus is the egret.
  • May 27-30 — The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is the premier Memorial Day weekend event in downtown Jacksonville. Regional musicians and international performers, the ’Round Midnight Jazz Jam and a Sunday brunch are reasons to go.
