Early March to the end of October is prime time to see a big mama ramble out of the waves and onto the shore.
Sea turtles — green, leatherback and loggerhead — are on a mission to dig deep and place upwards of 150 eggs in
to nests. It happens on South Florida's beaches with the stretch from Port Canaveral to Sebastian Inlet being a hot spot. After 45 to 70 days, hatchlings maneuver via moonlight into the ocean blue. At Boca Raton's Gumbo Limbo Nature Center you can view hatchling releases from mid-July through September.
