Take a boat ride in Key Largo.

A local couple puts the original African Queen back on the water in Key Largo.
by Paul Love | Photography Gary Bogdon

A Hollywood icon has reemerged in Key Largo. After extensive restoration work, African Queen, the 30-foot riverboat that carried Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn in the eponymous 1951 film, is sailing again. Veteran boat operators Lance and Suzanne Holmquist saw the 100-year-old boat in a local marina and turned their love of old movies into an opportunity both for themselves and for nostalgic cinephiles. Daily tours run through the island’s canals, past mangroves and into the Atlantic, with a stop at the Pilot House Restaurant for lunch or dinner. Passengers are even able to take turns steering the beloved boat, an experience they don't soon forget! 305.451.8080
