On trend with the quest for the freshest "picked that morning" ingredients, the latest addition to Orlando's dining scene embraces the Farm to Fork concept with an edgy twist on classic Italian staples. Siro: Urban Italian Kitchen, just opened in the Orlando World Center Marriott, raises the bar with a menu filled with unexpected variations on classic pizza and pasta dishes adding local ingredients to up the flavor ante even higher.

Start with The Artisan cocktail made with house-crafted lemoncello, freshly grown basil and squeezed lemon for a citrus taste with a fragrant kick. Then have some fun sharing plates of antipasti - the Golden Beets are a real hit, tasty and tender under creamy goat cheese and crunchy pistachios. The Ripe Tomatoes are another sure bet with only the freshest, ripest red and yellow tomatoes bursting with flavor you can't find outside the garden. Move on to their house-made Cheese Tortellini slick with melted sage brown butter and butternut squash. And for a fresh take on farm-friendly pizza try their Green, Eggs & Ham piled high with arugula over thin folds of prosciutto and a sunny side egg in the center.

The desserts also stay true to Chef Anthony Burdo's not-from-a-box philosophy with classic cannolis, tiramisu and panna cotta all made from scratch in their kitchen every day. Bringing in star pastry chef Ramon Perez to oversee the dessert menu, their Ramon's Cookie Jar is a perfect way to end the meal with sweet Italian flavors of amaretti, anise and figs to pay homage to the old country.
