Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Showcases Restaurants
Last Friday, I enjoyed a refreshing Florida fall evening outside at the first annual Food & Wine Classic, hosted at the Swan and Dolphin hotels inside the Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista. An outdoor area overlooking the water connects these two sister hotels and was the perfect spot for the event. Restaurants from both properties set up booths lining the waterfront and served delicious samples like Bluezoo’s shrimp-cocktail shooters topped with bloody-mary cocktail sauce and lemon foam and Il Mulino’s perfectly seasoned mini meatball subs sprinkled with fresh Parmesan. The San Paolo sangiovese complemented the meatballs nicely, while a cucumber cocktail made with Square One vodka and fresh tarragon made the shrimp cocktail pop. Right as we downed our last sip and bite, Disney’s famed fireworks exploded over the water — the perfect finale to a perfect evening. For more culinary samplings check out the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival through Nov. 14 at the neighboring theme park.
