Fleming’s Great Deal

Fleming’s Great Deal

Fleming's

On a recent visit to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar on Sand Lake Road in Orlando, I was delighted to discover that what appears to be a steakhouse is in fact much more. The bar and lounge area has become a popular gathering place to kick off an evening with drinks and appetizers--especially when they’re priced at $6 each till 7 pm. I sampled the Stoli Bombshell made with vanilla vodka, but could easily have gone with the Pomtini, pomegranate and vodka. Appetizers are quite the deal too: tenderloin Carpaccio, sweet chile calamari, Cajun barbecue shrimp and seared ahi tuna. If you’re a traditionalist, you can’t go wrong with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Burger addicts find juicy beef hamburgers (after all this is a steakhouse) for only six bucks. And if you’re not into wine, order beer. In fact order two bottles of Blue Moon Belgian White Ale complete with orange slices for $6, yes two for $6. General manager Mark Cline is one of the friendliest hosts in town so if appetizers are just the beginning of your evening, he’ll happily seat you in the dining room where you can order that sizzling Porterhouse you’ve been dreaming about all night. And ask for the MacMurray Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir—you won’t be sorry.
