Florida's 30A Gets a Theme Song
There's no doubt that the residents of 30A's new-urban beach communities are in love with their hometowns, as are the regular visitors who return to this scenic stretch of northwest Florida. Thanks to the talents of one local, 30A now has a theme song. Bryan Kennedy, who came to the Gulf Coast by way of Nashville (and wrote a few #1 hits for Garth Brooks along the way), recently released the single "Life Shines (The 30A Song)," a catchy tune expressing the joys of life in the sun and sand and the easygoing culture characteristic of the area.
According to Kennedy, the inspiration for the song is all around him. "Anyone who's ever been to 30A knows how special it is, not only for its natural beauty but also for its people," he says about his adopted home. I have to admit, hearing the song makes me ache for the soft white sands of Rosemary Beach, a few ribs at Barefoot BBQ in Seaside (where chatting with the people walking by is part of the fun) and, of course, a cold beer at Red Bar, steps from the sands of Grayton Beach.
"Life Sines" is available at the iTunes Store, or you can watch the video (featuring some great footage of the area) on 30A's Facebook page. I challenge you to listen to the entire thing without tapping your toe a time or two.
