Getaway to the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast
The Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast, in Palmetto, situated near the city of Bradenton, is one of my most favorite places. It is uber romantic! Circa 1913, the arts and crafts home is lovely. Filled with treasured French antiques and collectibles, it is on the National Register of Historic Places.
From the moment of arrival, you know you’re in a very special place. Innkeepers Wim and Mieke Lippens-Delesie are the most gracious hosts. Their Belgian roots are present — especially in their cuisine offerings — chocolates, Belgian beer and Wim and Mieke’s favorite family hors d’oeuvres served at cocktail hour. The European-style breakfast is a treat as well (don't miss the Belgian walnuts).
The Manatee River setting is spectacular. When I was seated on the front lawn with the peaceful river view beyond, I couldn't think of anywhere else I'd rather be.
