Rooftop Lounge + Killer Sushi at Townhouse Hotel SoBe

Townhouse Hotel Miami Beach

I was swooning over aromatic white truffle oil drizzled on thinly sliced fresh yellowfin tuna. Best part, it wasn’t a dream. I was actually dining at one of the most sultry settings I’ve ever eaten sushi in known as the Bond Street Lounge at the Townhouse Hotel. It’s quite a scene for hipsters. Besides having a bite, my plan was to check out the new Rooftop Lounge designed by my dining companions, Perry Tortorelli and Ricardo Raphael of Details at Home.

Bond Street is actually located in the chic intimate basement setting of the Townhouse Hotel. Once settled into a creamy-hued corner banquette, the innovative sushi, including sesame crusted shrimp rolls, just kept coming. The seaweed salad was yummy and the sake rocks too. Connoisseurs of the liquid will be pleased. Once we had more than our fill, we headed to the new Rooftop Lounge, situated five stories up—via elevator and stairs—from Collins Avenue. A whole new world waits here, with amazing city views and a full bar with a cool oversized lighting fixture that once served as an outdoor shower stall. Tortorelli and Raphael designed the space to have a vacay yet posh feel with crisp Adirondack chairs paired with cushions in sultry gray with red piping. The seating provides an alternative hotspot for diners who don’t want to wait for a table below (there’s also a chef’s table on the rooftop for large parties too). It's all fab. Note to self: Return as soon as possible.
