Nashville Meets Key Largo at Downtown Songfest
Want to hear the stories behind some of your favorite songs? Check out the inaugural Downtown Key Largo Songfest in the Florida Keys where nine seasoned songwriters will perform and tell the tales behind the hit songs they’ve written for the likes of Jimmy Buffet, Randy Travis, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Eric Clapton, Lynryd Skynryd and more. The weekend festival (Oct. 19 to 20) takes place at three tropical venues — Bayside Grille, Sharkey's Pub and Pilot House Restaurant & Glass Bottom Bar — and the Island Time trolley provides complimentary shuttle service between them. You'll want to grab a margarita, settle in waterside and enjoy some cool jazz, blues, rock, country and contemporary pop performances.
Sponsored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the event features some of America's leading lyricists, including Nashville Hall of Fame songwriters Pat Alger and Hugh Prestwood. The festival is free and open to the public.
