Mokara Spa opens in the Omni Orlando Resort

This presidents’ day, as my son and his grandparents floated happily down the Omni Orlando’s meandering lazy river, I stole a few morning hours to enjoy the newly opened Mokara Spa. With a cloud of steam floating above my face and the smell of ripe pineapple scrub rising off my shoulders, I blissfully nestled into heated micro-fiber sheets to enjoy a signature Mokara facial. My star esthetician Hope’s impossibly soft hands worked layer upon layer of nutrient-rich creams into my skin, rotating the relaxing massage with a series of hot and cold compresses to stimulate and sooth.

The new spa is a mini oasis within the lushly landscaped Mediterranean-style resort – a low-lit, earth-toned comfort for those like me wanting to escape the hustle and bustle that a trip to Central Florida often can be. I rejoined my family having lunch poolside feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. My son enjoyed spending the day swimming in the zero-entry pool and sliding down the corkscrew waterslide so much, I don’t think he even noticed I had snuck away!
