Relaxing at the Spa at Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale

Relaxing at the Spa at Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale

The wet-room (with a jacuzzi + steam) at the Spa at Harbor Beach Marriott

Fort Lauderdale’s Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is a spectacular property thanks in part to its location —16 acres seated directly on the Atlantic Ocean — plus 3030 Ocean, which is the place to dine for modern American seafood masterpieces of executive chef Dean James Max and chef de cuisine Jeremy Ford (over-the-top inventive dishes include Cocoa Beach smoked octopus). Then there’s the Spa at Harbor Beach. It’s here that I indulged in the Harbor Beach Signature Tropical Tiki Bliss massage for 50 solid minutes of, well, bliss.

After choosing an aromatherapy scent that suited me (spicy!), it all began. To the background of soothing Zen-like music that I could have easily cat-napped to, the massage therapist glided and rolled small heated pieces of bamboo over my sore muscles. She followed the treatment with a more traditional hands-on massage. In the end, it was all about relaxation and well-being. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
