Sarasota hotspot

Sarasota hotspot

May 13th, 2009

Dining on what had to be one of the most delicious yellowfin tuna dishes ever, with each slice enrobed in a wasabi crust, I knew Sarasota's Libby's Café + Bar (www.libbyscafebar.com) was headed to the top of my foodie's fave list. I chatted with the passionate kin behind the restaurant, Steve Seidensticker, his lovely partner, artist Margaret Barnes, and Steve's sons, Patrick and Joe. The brothers were working the front and the back of the house, their energies palpable. Open and warm, with lots of comfy booths, this neighborhood spot in the city's Hillview district also has a great bar that fills with locals, but the sidewalk tables are great for people-watching.
