Table 42

When the house-made thinny-thin foccacia arrived at the table with a beautiful saucy tomato rich spread accompanied by sublime tasting olive oil, I knew I was in for a palate pleasing evening. Passionate restaurateur Gary Rack has reinvented his Coal Mine Pizza into Table 42 Italian Kitchen + Wine Bar in Boca Raton. And that's a good thing.

The setting for this tempting Italian eatery is sated with hues of red, black and white. Very sophisticated. The red fixtures add mega high drama to the space. Rack’s own VIP Table—number 42—gave him the idea for the dining spot's calling card. And it’s at table number 42, the oversized corner banquette that easily seats 16, where you’ll likely find the ever-so-charming Rack among friends and family digging into giant meatballs paired with San Marzano sauce and ricotta. Executive Chef Matthew Danaher’s perspective on flavors is right on. It’s a scene to be seen at Table 42 most nights, but especially so on Wednesdays when the restaurant’s $5 build-your-own burger cult happening occurs. Black truffle or classic Brooklyn pizza pies are also a must here. www.grrestaurant.com
