The UCF Knights are no secret in college football anymore. The boys from Orlando have been terrorizing the rest of the American Athletic Conference season after season. And beginning in July 2002, the university will transition over to the Big 12 Conference, where traditional powerhouses of all sports await. Get ready for the action with the right fan gear. With more than 70,000 students, UCF is the largest university by enrollment in Florida. That’s a lot of potential license plate frames. It’s happy hour
Though the university began classes in 1968, it didn’t field its first varsity football team until 1979. The Knights began as an NCAA Division III and – in 1996 – became the first program in NCAA history to have played in all four divisions of college football. Did you know UCF began in the ’60s as Florida Technological University? It was the university’s second president, Dr. Trevor Colbourn, who pushed for a new name in 1979 that better represented the school’s since-expanded scope. This shirt celebrates the school of today.
