Our Favorite Adult Card and Drinking Games

Put the kids in bed and hide the car keys before tackling these adult games

In my parents’ day, the evening card game of choice was Euchre, a game that’s as difficult to spell as it was for me to learn. Thankfully, today’s adults have far more interesting card games to break out at night. So grab that book of cocktail recipes and your adult friends – here are four of our favorite adult card and drinking games. (Please play responsibly and with designated drivers!)

Drunk Stoned or Stupid

Drunk Stoned or Stupid
More than 200 prompt cards to decide who in the group is “most likely to …” well, that’s where the fun starts. Amazon

We love the cards here, like “Most likely to wake up with half a burrito in bed.” (Not me – I’ve never met a burrito I didn’t love.) Most likely to buy this game? That actually would be me. Most likely to need an Uber or Lyft after a couple hours? Also me. I’m a lightweight.

Cards Against Humanity

Cards Against Humanity
It touts itself as a “party game for horrible people.” Version 2.0 has 150 additional cards. Amazon

Ask a question with a black card as your soon-to-be-former friends answer with their white cards. Could this phenomenon really be that simple? Ah yes, but the fun is magnified depending on how warped your sense of humor is (and how many cocktails you had before starting the game).

What Do You Meme?

What Do You Meme?
Each game has 75 photo cards and 360 caption cards. Match a photo with a caption and decide who has the funniest meme. Amazon

It’s a very adult game for the social generation. (Yeah, no sense explaining what a meme is to your grandparents.) It’s a quick game to learn and funner to play as the night and beverages continue.

These Cards Will Get You Drunk

These Cards Will Get You Drunk
Draw a card, follow the instructions and drink. We reiterate players really must be 21 years or older for this game. Amazon

Could this game‘s title be any more ambiguous? We jest, of course. Like with all really great ice-breaker games, the rules are easy to follow and gameplay is quick, so maybe sure your fridge is full of beverages before you start. (And be sure you have a ride service queued up on your smart phone!)
