The perfect event for professional and amateur botanists—caladiums were first grown in the Lake Placid area in the early 1940’s and have been compared to the tulip fields in Holland for their beauty. Lake Placid, known as the Caladium Capital of the World, has hosted the annual festival since 1990. Expect activities celebrating the brightly colored plant such as, a floral arrangement competition, caladium art competition, field bus tours to view the plants up close, and so much more.
