Fortune Magazine has ranked several Florida colleges among the top online MBA programs in the nation. The University of Florida was ranked second, the University of South Florida was ranked 12th and Florida Southern College was ranked 20th.
Other Florida programs included were: Florida Institute of Technology (90), and Stetson University (93).
The top overall MBA online program was Indiana University.
The graduate-level degree known as an MBA, or master of business administration, focuses on business leadership and management. The degree is offered in a variety of forms, including online, in-person, and a blend of the two, and is designed to train graduates to lead organizations. The only major difference between an on-campus MBA school and an online MBA program is how the classes are delivered; otherwise, the curriculum and professors instructing the classes are likely to be the same.
The ranking by Fortune takes into account a school’s reputation, cost, access to alumni, and potential career paths for MBA graduates, among other factors. Fortune publishes the ranking for the third time with the goal of assisting aspiring managers and business leaders in navigating the business school landscape. Many mid-career professionals decide to get an MBA in order to get to the C-suite. Although many Fortune 500 CEOs have their MBA on their resumes, enrolment in online MBA schools has decreased 12.5 percent in recent years, according to Fortune.
