Key West is one of Florida’s most beloved treasures. So it pained the entire state to watch the devastation thrust upon the island by Hurricane Irma in early September. Video reports are still emerging, showing residents who defied evacuation orders and stayed put with their homes and businesses.
This video, from the Key West newspaper Blue Paper, shows interviews with Key West residents taped before, during and after Hurricane Irma. The island continues recovery efforts. The goal remains being fully back in business before the annual Fantasy Fest celebration in late October.
