Is there anything more comforting than a piping hot bowl of soup? Even the words “piping hot” conjure up visions of a midday break on the couch with a tureen of creamy wonderfulness in your hands. These days, getting a good bowl of soup doesn’t require hours of patiently stirring an old family recipe in the kitchen. Here are several tasty soup packs we recommend.
Don’t turn your nose up at store-bought ramen – this pack from Nissin has a rich and savory umami broth – along with the included fork – that will make you a believer. This 12-pack includes four packs of each flavor: miso, shoyu and tonkotsu.
This kosher blend of vegetables makes a quick serving of soup. Just add ⅓ cup of the mix with 8 ounces of water and boil until tender – usually just a few minutes. It’s also a good seasoning for stir-fry, stews and side dishes.
This 12-pack of creamy tomato soup is the perfect antidote for a cloudy day. It’s vegetarian and gluten-free and comes in convenient single serving boxes with 8 ounces. For added comfort, just fire up the stovetop and whip up some grilled cheese sandwiches to go with the soup.
We had high expectations for these “bone broth” soups by Kettle & Fire and they did not disappoint. They come packaged in convenient-sized cartons and in a large variety of flavors, including tomato, miso, Thai curry, chicken mushroom and more. (The beef chili and miso are our faves!) There’s a deep flavor to these soups that just wowed us carton after carton. Better yet, they’re free of antibiotics and hormones. We’ll be keeping these in our pantry from now on.
