
Vrbo, the online vacation rental company, has revealed its picks for the 2023 Vacation Homes of the Year. The award showcases the finest vacation houses in the United States. As an added bonus, this year’s list also has a vacation property in Mexico, a country that frequently rates among the most well-liked international tourist destinations for Americans.
The list included one Florida property, a waterfront house near Rosemary Beach.
The homes that make up the 2023 Vacation Homes of the Year range from small mountain hideaways to idyllic lakeside retreats and desert paradises, and they represent a variety of popular vacation spots and pricing ranges. These properties were chosen by Vrbo based on stringent criteria, such as having a 4.9 or higher star rating, a large number of guest reviews, Premier Host status, and exceptional facilities and areas for gathering with loved ones.
“There are more than 2 million private vacations rentals on Vrbo, so there are many amazing choices. This year’s Vacation Homes of the Year range from an urban oasis and a cozy ranch home under $400 a night to a beachfront estate that can sleep the whole family and more,” said Jon Gieselman, president of Expedia Brands. “Every single Vacation Home of the Year has a beautiful view, and combined boast seven private pools and fire pits, eight hot tubs and even five putting greens.
These are the residences Vrbo selected:
Palm Springs, California – This huge desert getaway is only a few hours’ drive from Los Angeles and is ideal for families and large groups. The breathtaking outside area has a private pool, a mini golf course, and a pavilion where you can watch the sun set. The house also boasts a chef’s kitchen that is elegantly decorated and equipped, as well as a spa lounge with a sauna and steam room.
Phoenix, Arizona – The “Happy Roadrunner” is a stunning, exclusive refuge with a resort-style patio and breathtaking, expansive views of the surrounding countryside. The house is conveniently close to Phoenix’s top attractions because to its city center location.
Lake Norman, North Carolina – Less than an hour from the center of Charlotte, The “Chasestone” is located on a secluded peninsula with over 600 feet of lakefront views. A gourmet open-concept kitchen, theater room, and living area with access to the deck for outdoor dining are all included in the Nantucket-style house.
Manzanita, Oregon – This super-contemporary wonder is a masterwork of architecture that seems to float among the trees. Ample natural light enters the room through walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, which also provide stunning views of Neahkahnie Beach, which is just outside.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – “Villa Luna Nueva” is this year’s bonus property located in the ever-popular Cabo San Lucas.
