Airline passengers have a new option from Florida to El Salvador with the beginning of Volaris El Salvador’s three weekly nonstop flights between San Salvador and Miami.
Officials from Miami-Dade County and Volaris El Salvador marked the beginning of the airline’s service in late March by cutting a ribbon at Miami International. The new route will be run by Volaris El Salvador using 174-seater A320 airplanes.
A low-cost division of the Mexican airline Volaris with headquarters in San Salvador, Volaris El Salvador is the national airline of El Salvador. American Airlines and Avianca both offer service on the Miami-San Salvador route.
In 2022, there were around 260,000 passengers who flew from Miami International to El Salvador. With its Miami opening, Volaris El Salvador became the 11th low-cost airline and Miami’s 100th airline partner.
With this latest addition, 43 freight-only carriers and 57 passenger airlines are now based at Miami International.
