Tampa International Airport has a new airline partner with Canadian carrier Lynx Air and has announced two nonstop routes to Toronto and Montreal starting this fall.
The ultra-low-cost airline will begin serving Toronto Pearson International Airport on Nov. 16, and Montreal-Pierre Trudeau International Airport on Nov. 17. Both routes will fly four times per week (on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays).
Lynx Air is now the 21st scheduled passenger carrier currently flying to Tampa and the third to offer nonstop service to Canada.
“Tampa International Airport is proud to offer more travel options from Toronto and Montreal with our new airline partner Lynx Air, the first Canadian carrier to launch new service to TPA since the pandemic,” TPA CEO Joe Lopano said. “Our community is closely linked with our Canadian neighbors, who are the largest source of international visitation, homeownership and foreign direct investment in Tampa Bay. We look forward to better serving our travelers to and from Canada and opening doors to all the wonderful things our growing region has to offer.”
These are the first routes to Tampa for the Calgary-based airline, which launched in April 2022. Lynx Air now serves 16 destinations with seven new Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline plans to grow its fleet to 10 aircraft by the end of 2023 and has orders in place for an additional 36 planes.
“We are thrilled to connect travelers to one of the most vibrant destinations in the U.S. With beautiful beaches, world-class entertainment, and cultural experiences, Tampa Bay offers something for everyone,” Lynx Air CEO Merren McArthur said. “Our convenient and affordable flights will provide an exceptional travel experience and continue to connect Canadians to incredible destinations.”
Lynx Air’s fares to Tampa start as low as $99 with taxes and fees, but to celebrate the new routes to Toronto and Montreal, the airline is currently offering up to 25 percent off tickets to both destinations using the promo code “TAMPA” on LynxAir BookSecure PWA .
