Insider Tip:
Visitors to the Florida Strawberry Festival are often tempted to bring home a “flat” (that’s usually 12 small baskets of berries bundled together) from one of the many farmers’ kiosks inside and around the festival grounds. Unless you’ve already devised an elaborate plan to clean and freeze the berries, 12 baskets is usually too much for one family to consume before they begin to spoil. Instead, plan your car ride home for detours to friends and relatives you can gift them each their own small baskets of berries.
