Across the street from Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is George M. Steinbrenner Field. Named after the longtime owner of the Yankees who called Tampa his home, the stadium is one of the largest in the Grapefruit League and features the largest Yankee souvenir shop in the Southeast. After the game is over, head downtown to catch an independent flick at the historic Tampa Theatre, a 1926 venue on the National Register of Historic Places. Or catch a touring Broadway show at The David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. Busch Gardens and Lowry Park Zoo offer plenty of fun for animal fans. And the Tampa Bay History Center offers fans a glimpse at the city’s rich history.
