Clearwater Beach has been a traditional family-favorite destination in Florida for travelers. The white-sand beach and calmer nightlife provide a much more serene atmosphere for families. Now, Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa is upping the ante with new special amenities for families traveling with babies and toddlers.

The beachfront resort this week announced it’s offering a “welcome kit” for guests bringing kids on vacation. Amenities include diaper pails, baby blankets, in-room “fort-building kits” and more.

The hotel’s “Hyatt Has It for Babies” program offers baby tubs, bottle warmers, baby towels, baby shampoo, outlet covers are more. “In-room fort kits” – we can only imagine the possibilities here – are available for $45 a stay.

Amenities for older children include a kids’ beach tent, a sand castle bucket gift basket, beach snacks, children’s sunscreen, coloring books and more. The family amenity kit is an additional $120 per stay.

The resort has 286 rooms and more than 20,000 feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. Other resort amenities include a heated pool on the roof, air-conditioned poolside cabanas, a spa and a 24-hour fitness center.

According to tourism officials, St. Petersburg/Clearwater is the top destination for visitors to Florida’s Gulf Coast with more than 6.5 million tourists visiting each year.
