This cocktail comes from bar manager Mike Smith at The Imperial in Sanford. Nothing beats a classic whiskey smash, it’s easy to make and light enough to sip all year long. The use of Palm Ridge Reserve adds a spicy note to the cooling fresh mint.

Makes 1 Cocktail
Ingredients
2 oz. Palm Ridge Reserve
3/4 oz. fresh lemon Juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
4 fresh mint leaves
Sprig of mint (optional)
Instructions
Place the fresh mint, lemon, and simple syrup in a mixing glass. Muddle together until the sugar has dissolved and the lemon has expressed its juices. Add the whiskey, cover, and shake for 30 seconds. Transfer mixture to an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
