Thin crust or thick crust. Pineapple with ham or pepperoni with mushrooms. No matter how you like your pies, choosing the best places for pizza is always going to be a subjective matter. Still, the experts at Italy’s 50 Top Pizza have ranked the best pizzas around the U.S. and the world, and four restaurants in Florida made the list.
Restaurants were not only judged on their pizzas but also on service, dining atmosphere and even the beverage selection. Here are the four Florida winners, along with the edited (and translated) comments from 50 Top Pizza.

0′ Munaciello in Miami is ranked 7th. According to the ranking, “the classic Neapolitan pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven. The soft dough is thinly spread and topped with authentic Italian ingredients. It gives the palette the experience of an excellent traditional pizza.”
La Leggenda Pizzeria in Miami is ranked 11th. The list curators noted, “From San Felice in Cancello to Florida to become one of the most loved and well-known pizza makers: this is the beautiful parable of Giovanni Gagliardi, a lot of apprenticeship and a victory at the world championship in Parma for the Neapolitan pizza category stg. And that’s what enthusiasts find in this place: a classic and traditional Neapolitan-style pizza.”

Fabrica Pizza in Tampa is 15th. “A large, bright, well-maintained restaurant with always friendly and fast service. The pizza is the Neapolitan style and 12” in diameter, made with easily digestible dough which is pleasantly crunchy.”
PizzElla in Miami Beach is 40th. “This pizzeria radiates all the family warmth of the historic center of Naples, starting with the name, which is dedicated to the founder’s mother. The pizza style is, of course, the traditional Neapolitan one and it makes this place a landmark in Miami Beach. Among the most popular pizzas, we point out the margherita, the ‘pepperoni’, and the cacio e pepe.”

“New York is confirmed as one of the great capitals of pizza,” said list curators Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro and Albert Sapere, “and it is the city with the most pizzerias in the world, counting more than 7,000 establishments that serve pizza. The big news is the growing quality of the premises in the city of Portland, while California is the state with the most pizzerias.”
