As Lionel Messi, world-renowned soccer sensation and international icon, prepares to join Major League Soccer in South Florida, Hard Rock International has teamed with the sports hero to create … a chicken sandwich.
At participating Hard Rock Cafe locations around the world, guests can order the Messi Chicken Sandwich, a treat featuring a crispy Milanese-style chicken breast topped with melted provolone cheese and herbed aioli. It comes paired with fresh tomatoes and arugula.
“Leo Messi is not just one of the greatest athletes and cultural icons on the planet, he’s also an ambassador who aligns very closely with our values as an organization,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International. “We are extremely honored to partner with someone who embodies the champion and winning spirit in all facets of his professional and personal life, and we look forward to welcoming him to the U.S. as part of our extended Hard Rock family.”
The dish is inspired by the Milanesa, one of Messie’s favorite foods growing up. Milanesa is typically a beef or pork dish that’s coated with bread crumbs and fried. In Argentina, it’s often served alongside French fries or mashed potatoes.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Messi, 36, has won a record seven Ballon d’Or awards and a record six European Golden Shoes. Messi is tentatively set to make his MSL debut on July 21 for Inter Miami.
